In this interview, I had opportunity to talk about my long and winding musical journey, and surfaced some long-ago info, like the name of my first rock band – Rat Sandwich! I contrast my roles as a musical performer – which included a good deal of prancing, stancing  and left and right glancing – with how I see my role when I am leading a congregation to sing songs of worship. In my mind, these two musical situations should be sharply contrasted from each other. I explain the different musical choices we can make to help keep each distinguishable from the other.
